The project

Vegafruits faced a major challenge: collecting data from around fifteen machines of different brands, spread across three workshops, each speaking its own language, along with IoT sensors.

➡️ The goal? To centralize and ensure the reliability of this heterogeneous data, providing the Data Science team with a solid foundation for analysis, while laying the groundwork for the company’s future digital projects (SCADA, IIoT, etc.).

Our solution

Motilde designed a tailored, reliable, scalable, and user-friendly solution:

➡️ MOXA Industrial Gateways: One gateway per protocol, enabling communication with each machine in its native language, then converting the data to a modern IIoT protocol: MQTT.

➡️ Custom MQTT Infrastructure: Deployment of an MQTT broker on Vegafruits’ server to receive the data.

➡️ Motilde Data Management Solution: A service capable of processing MQTT messages and writing them directly into the client’s on-premise database.

➡️ Intuitive User Interfaces: Designed to simplify onboarding, monitoring, and future evolution of the solution.

Results and outlook

Motilde helped Vegafruits transition from a fragmented industrial setup to a unified system for data collection and storage, ready to accommodate future developments such as sensor deployment or integration of advanced analytics tools.

The project turned an interoperability challenge into a robust and adaptable architecture, paving the way for greater control over industrial data.
